Sorry kids. Looks like an early spring. Winter could be wrapping up and this La Nina might have all been a bunch of bs–for the Northwest at least.
This morning Punxsutawney Phil emerged from Gobblers Knob and did not see his shadow. Shadow = 6 more weeks of winter, no shadow = spring coming. Verify here.
What does this mean for the Northwest? No idea. We don’t have groundhog’s here. We just have Renner.
Interestingly, here are a few other places that are trying to come up on Punxsutawney Phil’s game:
- Staten Island – “Staten Island Chuck”
- Alberta – “Balzac Billy”
- Wisconsin- “Jimmy the Groundhog“
- North Carolina – “Sir Walter Wally”
More info about Groundhogs can be found here: wikipedia

The winters before last were mild la ninas & some of the best in recent memory” Cant really complain. But the bitch will be back, always dries up this time of year no matter the phenomenamenmanaaaaaaa.
