Westport 060510

Surfed Westport (Jetty) last Saturday.  The Grays Harbor buoy has been down for the last week so i couldn’t remotely view the wave conditions.  Next closest buoy is 100 miles away or something.  The forecast was calling for windy conditions and a less than ideal swell dir/per/size.  It was a gamble.

Webcam on the drive out showed a big pile of garbage waiting for us.  Stoke level lowered.  Fresh warm donuts in Oly took the level back up a notch.  Low clouds just past Oly brought it way back down.  Bright sun and East wind in Aberdeen jacked it back up.  Passed a ladder hauling _____ going the opposite way on the way to Westport–more stoke.

Walked up to the Jetty bluff expecting crap and instead saw offshore winds, good shape and a mellow crowd.  Surfed a couple times that day, super fun.  Way more fun that i was expecting. Got a ton of waves.  Water was super warm too.
