The Holy Oly was pretty sick this year. It wasn’t as big as years past, but i can’t ride that thing for isht anyways. The QP was quite a bit narrower than usual making for some epic near misses. There was a bit of a kink in it this year that i’d like to blame for bucking me to my back. Other dudes didn’t seem to need to blame the kink and were boosting double O.

The top lift at Hyak was taken out by a land slide last year, the bottom lift wasn’t running, and the cross-over from Silver Fir wasn’t open so the only option was to hike. Still tons of spectastors showed up.
It’s damn impressive to see that stuff in real life rather than a tv. Even more so after actually riding the thing (albeit like a sissy)–def gives you a greater appreciation for the dudes who kill it. And the vibe at the Holy Oly! is rad. Nothing but beer fueled stoke. Here’s a few pics:

mean while u missed a solid weekend of surf
uh huh….
mean while u missed a solid weekend of powder (kinda)
good report and shots, Russell Windfield award, whaat?
4 days of decent tube rides on the coast…beats NW powder any day.
i would agree. especially when there isn’t any NW powder
Lib and Oly.hmm. Red Hook has too much powah and flavah..for the PNW.
Cali has taken reign on craft ales, supah pypes/powder and waves…not only this week, but maybe infinitely.
Sierra Seament > NW Peanut Butter
I think he means doing powder and dude tube rides on the coast. There is no surf in WA when I’m gone.
If Cali has the reign on craft ales over Oregon, I’ll take a load of Sierra Seamen on my face
