Man, last weekend was nutz. Some of the best surf i’ve ever had. I’m sure a lot of people feel the same. Saw a bunch of my friends get the _________ (pick an adjective) wave ever. Ear to ear smile, high5′s, and a lotta stoke.
The pics i do have don’t do a bit of justice. I was too busy to take pics. But damn, it was good. Every nook and crannie was working. The farther west you got, the bigger it got. Saw a spot or two that were unsurfable big–i.e. no cars were parked in the lots.
The weather cooperated for the most part. I only got dropped in on once. Got to see one friend catch a wave so far away that he was a speck on the horizon and then go zipping past me down the line. Saw another friend botch a drop in and belly board right up a cobbly beach, board unscathed. Totally rad.
I heard some ski areas are opening this week or something.

Lotta Oregon bros up there last weekend I take it? Our breaks have a hard time holding that shit unfortunately, so jonsers like me drive. Some of us are cool, the ones who leave, but it might be a different story if you paddle out down here at a spot or two.
Wife put the shut down on my mission. Well that and I was up there the weekend before and it was empty, but obviously not as good.
So outta 1-5 what’s the rating? When was the last time it was that good? Lets hope for more in the ___ range, especially now the mountains are open and there will be freshies to contend with.
i’d give it a 5. although i’ve had it better. no complaints here.

NO! I can get to Westport in pretty much the same time it would take you to get there from Seatttle. It's also just as close as the central Or coast for us. They are also going to close Hwy 26 down here this summer and the detour will make it the same amount or more than just going to Shorites, so get used to it. Boarders mean nothing to me other than the cops up there suck ass. And yes I have scored secret WA spots becuse of NWBroweather and its affiliated photg links, WanaSurf, Transworld, and Surfer. the "secret" spots in washington more often than not are un "crowded." they are just too far for the majority of surfers in the PNW.
the cops in oregon are just as bad. and oregon drivers are worse than washington drivers. well atleast portland vs. seattle.
most spots on the straits are on privite land. access has alwayts been an issue. this spot esspesialy. might not be the best idea to hype up a spot that is on the verge of being restricted do to over use. go surf have fun but keep it low key
