Opening day is sort of a novelty. A typical opening day is full of marginal conditions, butt snow, questionable weather, and early lodge-hang-it-up-beer-drinking-sessions.
Mt. Baker’s opening day yesterday was no novelty. The mountain opened up with 60 some inches of a base, and sunny, bird conditions. There was plenty of snow coverage. Ya really didn’t have to worry about hitting anything.
The place got tracked pretty quick but there was still plenty of pockets of pow to be had all over. End of the day a couple friends and i hiked up the arm. I’m embarrased to say but that was the first time i’ve ever been up the arm. Holy shit…so sic. Mellow hike, high speed turns and face shots waiting below.
There were a bunch of people who i knew were going to be there…never saw one of em. There were even three separate Brian’s up there that i missed. I guess the powder day vs. friends mantra stays.
As i finish up this post, i can hear rain thumping on my roof. Hopefully that translates to dumping at Baker again. See you Saturday.
Here’s a few snaps:

so: by being an abnormal Opening Day, could one say that it was a novelty?
you suck at words and you suck at being on the Arm.
got room for tomorrow?
i think opening day is a novelty in general. usually you have half-assed conditions, have to be careful riding n shit. It’s not quite full on snowboarding yet.
Baker was full on legit yesterday. Surprisingly.
THEREFORE AMONG OPENING DAYS: IT WAS A NOVEL ONE. YOUR BRAIN IS AS SOFT AS THE TOP OF YOUR PINK SURFBOARD YOU RENTED YOU FUCKING IDIOT.
a-man: snoqualmie grand opening is tomorrow, you can probably bike up I-90… gear up bro, it is on.
Super fun day. Getting some arm at the end of the day was the shizzle on top of the dizzle!
