If any of you out there monkey around with Google Earth or Google Maps, you probably know that most of the Washington Cascade ski areas have crappy aerial photo coverage. If you didn’t, here’s an example of the current aerial photo for Alpental on Google Maps:
For some reason Google has crap aerial photo coverage for most of Washington’s Cascade ski areas. What i don’t get is the US Government has been putting out fairly high resolution color aerial photos for almost every state for a while now.
The photo below an example of US Gov imagery. The image date is 2006. At full resolution the image has a 1 meter pixel size. I’ve included a zip file that has the high resolution image and a world file that will come in handy in GIS or other mapping software. Enjoy.
Also, i have aerial photo data like this data for the whole state. Holler if you want to see any other ski areas.

you have aerial photo data like that for the whole state? that is rad, i did not know there was such a resource. a new saga of city kook exploration of the washington coast has begun. you should put surf locator tabs on your homepage of aerial shots of secret surf spots
better yet you should start your own iphone app which allows city kooks to search for secret surf spots in location to where they are or within in A mans home. .
