The Holy Oly was over at Snoqualmie (aka Summit West) this year cause Hyak got teard up by a landslide. The new spot was on lookers right of Julies Chair. I liked the spot better…more sun, closer to the bar. Evidently the QP was bigger this year (28 feet) according to Rodeo Kevin. I couldn’t tell the difference.
I thought the transition was perfect. No weird kinks, under or over-vert. The run in at this new location wasn’t as steep as over at Hyak so the hike up was a bit longer. Still, to get out of the thing you had to haul effing ass. It was scary. I don’t like going that fast on non-pow.
I’d say the level of riding this year was a notch down from last year. There wasn’t as much gnar or big shiz going down. But there was def a few stand outs. M.Hayes’s big ol McT’s, K.Jenson stank methods, AustinH’s booster backside airs and Devon’s switch McT’s, etc.
The bar session after wards was a mess. I’m pretty sure i pissed off at least 3 people. Everybody totally lost their shite too. Good times though.
