For the past few years Ride Snowboards has been putting on a contest where you can submit a graphic for a snowboard. The idea is that you drop something amazing and the graphical gurus at Ride agree on the amazing-ness. Then your idea gets pressed on boards, you win money, and you get exposure. Most importantly, you’re well on your way to getting a job with that expensive Graphic Design B.A. you got.
Here’s nwBro’s attempt at amazing.

dude.. that is some slick art for sure..
i’d vote for it
does that graphic come in regular-method?
Ooh the Hotness! Mac Paint or Die!
genius!
now that i think about it more. an all black snowboard with “aplental rulz!” on it is just plain awesome.
why not just cut out the middleman (and entry fee) and go straight to your snowboard with it?
This is perhaps the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen.
I think the fee eliminates the majority of the dipshitz from submitting garbage that wouldn’t have a chance in hell at getting on a topsheet. Thus, eliminating the need to sift through piles of retarded attempts.
Time is money son.
What the ef is up with a $40 fee for two entries.. what the ef is up with a $60 fee for 3 entries… bob fking saget suck it… back in the day snowboarding companies would have free contests, not this pay for isht… most ridiculous load of dog sheet that I have heard of.. whats the fking point to even have a contest if they are only making 1 board out of it.. makes no sence.. suck it
nice use of expletives. thanks.
$40/60 is steep. not that it really matters to me. i ain’t tryin to drop art. maybe it’s spensive cause they want to throw a big party after the contest ends. those Ride dudes party.
maybe its because their phones are not ringing as much as they use to-so now those parties are making up for the fact people aren’t buying boards like when art contests were free?
or i agree with the seriousness of the contest.
sweenz got a point. i mean, my phone aint ringin as much as it used to but im definitely still partying a lot. i do think im makin up for the fact that peoples aint feelin my shiz anymore. but ill come back wit somethin fresh. maybe ride will too.
and yo swap, change with the times or get left behind. OBAMA!!

It would be cool if the snowboard would go out to production. I could see the point in that, definitely be worth it to an amateur artist. But from what I could gather, its just one snowboard they make that you get to keep. I say, make it free and fun, but whatever…..my attempt would be horrible so I’m definitely keeping my forty. It would be a big deal if a graphics design job was the grand prize, …to be sure.
Did they ever make any boards from the previous competitions? I can’t remember…
Yup, they print up the winning board for the artist & they only make one.
then they get a thousand dollars to go to the bar & now that snoqualmie has a casino that’s where I’d go to double my luck. yeah. wienners.
i concure with c l e m, give me a damn graphic design job! i’ll pay you,, you pay me. weeee!
Then entry fee weeds out stacks of shit. This is the 7th year they’ve done it they must have some demand for it. And $1000 is a good prize. All the people who bitch about the fee didn’t have any confidence in their graphix anyway.
BLUD IMSAYNTHO:
I HAVE 100% CONFIDENCE THAT I COULD SPEND THE ENTRY FEE ON PAINT PENS AND MY GRAPHIC WOULD END UP ON A SNOWBOARD
SHIT’S BONKERS DUDE IT MAKES NO SENSE
THONK ON IT
