I totally wouldn't have waited for you that day. And I'm glad i didn't. It sucks that the pass is closed, but it is for a damn good reason. That morning, there was a natural slide over Alpental road just before the condos which left about 7 feet of snow over the roadway. DB was the first person to see it, literally because he drove straight into it. So after that, patrol ski cut shot 8 (which didn't go) then blasted just across from the condos below shot 8 which slid all the way to the entrance to the garage. (Mike Moore got an mpeg of it) After that was all cleared, the fucking sysco truck got stuck blocking the road once again for almost an hour. So in the end we only got to ride top chair for an hour and a half, which was insane. THEN, there was yet another natural slide on I-90 just at the end of the bridge before Denny creek going westbound, which buried 3 cars. Soon to follow we heard of another natural slide went about one hour later near ellensburg. The DOT couldn't even get in to asses the situation until 9am this morn. We got stuck yesterday until 3. There was a caravan escorted by staters going westbound down the eastbound lanes of I-90. I don't think i've ever turned my peeps on in the car, but i did yesterday. It was gnarly

I'm a firm believer in 'no friends on a powder day'. You fools should have left me. You should have charged up to pass before they closed the highway at North Bend even though there was a decent chance that you would have got rejected at exit 47 when they closed that soon after. If not your asses would have ended up at the pass where you would have been puttin' some wicked pow turns in at Ski Acres, sleeping on the floor in the ski rental building, having to be escorted down the pass the next day without getting a chance to ride. Instead you got some Mickey's Ice, slept in your own bed, and score asick conditions at Steven's pass without ever having to wait in a single lift line.

So the lesson here is when your friends, who are generally reliable as a swiss time piece, are exceptionally late...maybe its an omen.
